The Grenfell Owls, nicknamed 'Owls', is a NHL Hockey team formed in the city of Grenfell, Alberta, Canada. Their team colours are Brown and Green and their mascot is Barney the Owl. The team was added to the NHL during the 1979 WHL merger between the two leagues, However before 1981 the team was based in Regina, Saskatchewan called 'Regina Suns'. The Owls arena is called 'Enbridge Arena.' They are in the Western Conference and are apart of the Pacific Division.
The Owls have made it to the playoffs 15 times and have advanced to the Stanely Cup Final 3 times, they won twice. Once in 1998, and again in 2015, they lost the cup in 2017.
Geographically Grenfell is close to the small towns of Creston and Lister, Alberta. Grenfell is the 4th most populated Alberta city and 12th overall in Canada. Grenfell is situated in the bottom left of Alberta, close to
both British Columbia and Montana.
